Welcome on Loukomosaic project website

FemancipationLoukamosaic is a piece of art that joins both children and adults from all over the world in making a mosaic. About 3000 people have joined so far to create individual hexagonal pieces of mosaic. More than 250 art and educational workshops have been organized so far for 5000 children from kindergartens, elementary and secondary schools and children from children´s homes who help us create this unique mosaic of a meadow. As one of the main goals of the project is to include as many levels of inspiration as possible, a program called The Colours of Words has become part of the Loukamosaic project. It helps the blind to create their own coloured mosaics by using special pieces of mosaic tiles. The unique piece of art has already been exhibited in several galleries, museums and botanical gardens. You will have an opportunity to see it in the future on a permanent display on a symbolic place. The unique Loukamosaic project is a metaphor for plant community on a flowering meadow.

Authors of the idea are the sculptor Michal Bouzek and the painter Lucie Crocro. Loukamosaic project has been realized since 2005 by the Femancipation civic association.
